This is such a powerful story and great promo of "our" book! I hope to be able to get something up next week as well.

Good story. You mentioned Sydney in another piece, and I thought you meant Sydney in Canada (one assumes most people on Substack hail from the other side of the world). So I was pretty chuffed to read of Sydney NSW, and Forbes, and Brisbane, etc., and realise that I'm reading the work of a fellow Aussie.

This was great, Michelle! I especially enjoyed the scene on the tram, "rushing" to get to your bus on time.

Is this the anthology that you have been talking about Michelle? I love the cover and this snippet of your story. 💜

Yes this is the anthology (we decided ‘collection’ was more approachable). I love the cover too 💜 This is not the story in the anthology, I will have a sneak peek of that soon. I’m glad you liked this story! I have another story about life —or fate—pulling the rug out from under my feet, to share here in a few days too. Thank you for taking the time to comment 🫶

Oh I see! The fluidity and flow of your memoirist style storytelling is beautiful, I hope you are aware it’s your strength. Keeping my eyes for the next one. And congratulations as the collection is manifesting 💜
